It is possible to install solar panels on a rental house, for both the tenant and the landlord. Certainly, both parties need to provide consent for this.
Does the yield of solar panels decrease as they age?

What are the dimensions of SamSam's solar panels?
Our panels have a standard size of approximately 100 cm by 165 cm. The exact size depends on the power: the higher the power, the larger the panel. Essentially, an offer is possible for every roof – flat, sloping, and dormer.
What is the maximum number of solar panels that can be placed on a flat roof?
This, of course, depends on the roof surface area. A standard margin of approximately 50 cm from the roof edge applies. On 20 m2 of flat roof space, you can fit approximately 10 panels of 100 x 165 cm. The yield in this calculation example is approximately 3200 kWh per year.
Do my solar panels need to be grounded?
Grounding of the solar panels themselves is not necessary, as they are double-insulated. However, the metal structure on which the solar panels are mounted does need to be grounded. This is part of the standard tasks performed by our installers.

How does SamSam determine which charitable causes to support?
SamSam regularly receives requests to support specific causes. However, we only support goals with projects that essentially promote SamSam’s mission and vision. For this reason we have a selection policy and annually evaluate whether the goals and projects are still well aligned. This way, we keep our project selection up-to-date at all times.
I would like to select a different charity. Is that possible?
No, this is not (anymore) possible. Before 2016, participants could suggest their own charitable causes. However, we hadn’t anticipated that the diversity of people would result in a vast array of different charitable causes. At a certain point, there were so many causes that we decided to limit it to a specific number. This way, the contributions per charitable cause will be larger in the future.
How can I be certain that SamSam transfers donations?
SamSam’s donations are visible on the annual accounts. The annual accounts are drawn up by an independent accountant. Once every five years, SamSam examines its association with the accountant. SamSam also publishes the donations on the website, so that the overview can be verified by charities.
The charities themselves are responsible for the amount of money that actually ends up in the projects. SamSam only supports CBF Recognized Organizations. This means that charities meet strict quality requirements, which are monitored by supervisory authority CBF. This way we can be sure that they contribute to a better world, handle every euro carefully and are accountable.
