SamSam is a social enterprise having its roots in the Netherlands. We're committed to honest, local, and sustainable energy, which means we engage with local partners and hire local workforce making the best fit for your household's, or your business energy needs, harvesting the African sun! Besides commercial projects SamSam has been, since the start of her existence, giving back to society. We aim to do this both in terms of funds as well as knowledge, with a preference for Africa. The journey of SamSam

SamSam has become a professional player in the energy market in the Netherlands having left the focus on fossil fuels behind. We have grown into a true partner in designing and installing solar energy solutions, with solar panels and back-up battery systems now constituting a significant part of our daily work. Now also from our office in Cape Town serving the people in South Africa.
Having matured quite a bit as a company, what remains unchanged is our commitment to social entrepreneurship.

2015

"There should be a different kind of energy company. Not as massive as traditional corporations, with a goal to do right by people and society." With this mindset, SamSam was born, and we have never wavered from our vision since.

2017

In the beginning, we solely focused on green energy. However, we received a request from an existing customer – could we also install solar panels? Since then, we have been involved in both the purchase and sale of these installations. Soon after, we established our own installation team! The entire customer journey is now in the experienced and friendly hands of SamSam.

2019

This year, we are achieving an important milestone as we officially become a member of MVO (Corporate Social Responsibility), a network of entrepreneurs collaborating to drive innovation for a new economy. All these partners share the same goal: working towards a carbon-neutral world.

2020

Since the inception of SamSam, we have been contributing to various sustainable charitable causes, an integral part of our social mission. During this period, we achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the mark of R 2,000,000 in donations. It's remarkable to witness what can be accomplished with this money, and we are continuing our support with unwavering dedication.

2021

This year, something special is happening. In Africa, we are completing the first project that has been 100% financed by our organization! The hospital in Lolwa, Congo, previously had limited access to essential electricity. A solar panel installation with a battery from SamSam provides a solution, and we are extremely proud of this achievement.

2022

Our second in-house project in Africa is commencing in Kajiado County, Kenya. Our local installer, Thiemo, is installing solar panel systems at various households, providing them with clean energy. This is particularly beneficial when children are studying their homework in the evenings.

2023

SamSam goes South Africa by opening office in Cape Town. Strengthening social entrepreneurship engaging with local clients, projects and workforce.
