See how we use solar to support local communities
Causes we supportSolar Solutions in Cape Town
At Samsam, we believe solar can do more than provide energy. Through our social projects, we support local communities, improve access to renewable energy, and create positive, lasting impact across the Western Cape.
- Supporting communities through solar energy
- Expanding access to solar power
- Creating lasting impact through solar energy
Giving back to iThemba School
One of the causes we are proud to support is iThemba School, where we are donating a solar energy system designed to help reduce the school’s reliance on grid electricity and alleviate its ongoing energy costs. The system will include solar panels, an inverter and battery storage, carefully selected to suit the school’s energy requirements.
By generating and storing clean energy on site, the project aims to provide iThemba School with greater energy resilience while helping redirect money that would otherwise be spent on electricity towards the school’s core purpose — supporting its learners and community.
Always happy to help
We are donating a solar system to iThemba School.
A little support goes a long way
Small contributions can make a big difference in people's live.
Power of sharing
We believe the power of sharing should reach beyond our homes.
Giving back to Lawrence House
Another one of the causes we are proud to support is Lawrence House, a child and youth care facility run by the Scalabrini Centre in Woodstock, Cape Town. The home provides a safe and supportive environment for children, including unaccompanied minors, refugees and young people who have experienced trauma.
We are proud to support Lawrence House by helping reduce its energy costs and providing greater energy resilience. This allows more resources to be focused on what matters most — supporting the children and young people in their care.
A true testament to the Power of Sharing.
Making a difference together
We’re happy to support Lawrence House and the children in their care.
Powering more than homes
Because the power of sharing should reach those who need it most.
Sharing power, creating impact
Together, we can make a meaningful difference in our community.

Powering a Cleaner Future
The places we live in are worth protecting. From Cape Town’s coastline to the natural landscapes of the Western Cape, our environment is part of what makes this region special.
Solar energy gives homes and businesses a way to generate electricity from a natural, renewable source — using the power of the sun rather than relying entirely on conventional electricity generation. Every solar installation helps move us towards a more sustainable energy future while reducing reliance on the grid.
At Samsam, we believe going solar isn’t only about keeping the lights on or reducing your electricity bill. It’s also about making smarter use of the resources around us and investing in a cleaner, more sustainable way of powering the places we live and work.
Harness the sun. Reduce your impact. Keep Cape Town powered.
